Lake George Winery’s shale based soils consist of alluvial outwash from the nearby Cullarin Range, and loose gravel embankments created over millennia by the wave action of Lake George.

Established in 1971, the vineyard has an optimal easterly aspect, and late afternoon sea breezes moderate heat during the growing season.

Lake George Winery’s wines are made with minimal interference, allowing full expression of the character of the vineyard.
